01Who we are

Guide Optik is built and operated by Outdoor Innovations LLC ("we," "us"). It is an iOS app for professional fishing guides and hunting outfitters: live water and weather conditions, waypoints, a trip calendar, expenses, and document storage, synced to your account.

This policy describes exactly what the app and this website collect and what happens to it. The short version: your data exists so the app works for you. We run no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking, and we never sell or share your data for marketing.

02What we collect

Your account

• Your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash by our infrastructure provider).
• The version and time of your acceptance of our Terms of Service.

Content you create in the app

Everything below is entered by you and synced to your account so it follows you across devices. It is visible only to you.

• Waypoints — names, notes, and precise GPS coordinates of spots you save. These are often commercially sensitive locations; they are protected accordingly (see section 04).
• Trips — your calendar, including client names and any phone numbers, email addresses, party sizes, and notes you enter, plus referral details when you hand a trip to another guide.
• Guide network — names, businesses, phone numbers, emails, and specialties of guides you add.
• Expenses — amounts, dates, categories, vendors, notes, and receipt photos you attach.
• Documents — licenses, permits, insurance, waivers, and certifications you track, including photos you attach and expiration dates.
• Rivers & stations — the gauges, buoys, and tide stations you follow and your ideal flow ranges.

What we do not collect

• No analytics or usage tracking. No crash-reporting SDKs. No advertising identifiers (IDFA). No third-party login providers.
• The app does not record or store your device's location history. Your live position is used as described in section 03.

03Device permissions

The app asks for three iOS permissions, each optional and used only for the stated purpose:

• Location (while using the app) — to center the map on you, show your position, and tag waypoints near you. Your coordinates are also sent to the U.S. National Weather Service to fetch the forecast for where you are (see section 05). Your live position is never saved by us; only waypoints you deliberately create are stored.
• Camera — to photograph licenses, permits, receipts, and other documents you attach.
• Photo library — to attach existing photos of those same documents.

04Where your data lives

Synced data is stored with Supabase, our hosting and database provider (acting as our processor), on servers located in the United States.

• All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
• Every record and photo is isolated per account with database-enforced row-level security: one account can never read another's data.
• Attachment photos live in private storage buckets scoped to your account; nothing is publicly accessible.
• On your device, your session token is stored in the iOS Keychain.

05Third parties

We share data with no one for marketing, advertising, or analytics. The complete list of services that receive anything at all:

• Supabase (processor) — hosts your account and synced data, described in section 04. Supabase is contractually bound to protect your data to at least the standard of this policy.
• U.S. National Weather Service (api.weather.gov) — receives your approximate coordinates (about 11-meter precision) when the app fetches your local forecast. No account identifier accompanies the request. This is a U.S. government service.
• USGS, NOAA, NDBC, and NOAA CO-OPS — receive only anonymous station and gauge identifiers (for example, a public river-gauge number) when the app loads conditions. They never receive your location, identity, or any account data.
• Map tile providers — OpenTopoMap, Esri, and USGS The National Map serve the map imagery you view. Like any map service, they receive your IP address and the tile coordinates of the area you are viewing, but no identity or account information.

Every provider above either receives no personal data or provides protections equivalent to this policy. We will update this list before adding any new service that receives user data.

06Your clients' information

Trip records may include your clients' names and contact details. You enter that information and you control it: we store it on your behalf and never contact your clients, market to them, or use their information for anything other than showing it back to you.

The referral feature shares a trip's details — including the client's contact information — with the guide you choose to hand it to. You are responsible for having your client's permission before referring their information to another guide.

07Retention & deletion

• Your data is kept for as long as your account exists.
• When you delete an individual item in the app, it is removed from your devices immediately and permanently purged from our servers within 30 days. Attached photos are removed at deletion time.
• You can delete your entire account in the app: Menu → Account → Delete account. This immediately and permanently erases your account, every record, and every photo from our servers. It cannot be undone, and we keep no copy.
• You can also email info@guideoptik.com and we will delete your account for you.

08Your rights

Guide Optik is distributed in the United States. Wherever you are, we honor these requests at info@guideoptik.com:

• Access — a copy of the data we hold for your account.
• Correction — nearly everything is directly editable in the app; we'll fix anything that isn't.
• Deletion — in-app (section 07) or by email.
• Withdrawal of consent — revoke any iOS permission in Settings at any time; the related feature simply stops working.

For California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share personal information, and we collect no data for cross-context behavioral advertising. You have the rights to know, to delete, to correct, and to non-discrimination for exercising them — all satisfied by the mechanisms above.

09Children

Guide Optik is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

10This website

• This site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), which receives your IP address in standard server logs as part of serving the pages.
• If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you submit, solely to contact you about access. Email info@guideoptik.com to be removed.
• Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of serving the font files.
• The site sets no analytics or advertising cookies.

11Changes & contact

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and ask you to review and accept the new version in the app before continuing.
